Evansville - Jan Elizabeth Johnston, 49, Evansville, passed away November 3, 2009 at St. Mary's Medical Center-Evansville after a brief illness. She was born December 9, 1959 in Anderson, Indiana. She grew up in Anderson, moving to Evansville in 1978. Jan was a 1978 graduate of Madison Heights High School and received her Associates Degree from Ivy Tech graduating Magna Cum Laude. Jan was a Qualified Medical Assistant and Certified Nursing Assistant in Evansville. She served her country in the US Army during Desert Storm. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Anderson and formerly Jobs Daughters Bethel #13. She is survived by her parents, Robert E. & Nancy Jane (Stephenson) Johnston of Anderson; sister, Jill (Johnston) & husband Troy Allen Brown of Palmetto, Florida; and niece, Hailey Danielle Gimenez of Palmetto, Florida. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Kenneth M. & Vera Lela (Hensley) Stephenson and paternal grandparents, Clarence Lester & Rose (Stoffel) Johnston. Services will be Saturday, November 7, 2009 at 11:00 AM, at Robert D. Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, South Chapel; 200 W. 53rd Street; Anderson, with Pastor David Comstock officiating. A celebration of life luncheon will be held immediately following the service at the Robert D. Loose Community Room in the Carriage House. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Anderson at a later date.
