Memories & Candles
I am saddened to learn of Charley's passing. Charley and I went to LaSalle and learned we were both planning to attend Manchester College so we decided to be roommates at Manchester for our freshman year.
I recall that we looked at our Freshman Orientation schedule and on day one it listed breakfast from 6:30-8. The first meeting started at 8. We lived in the residence hall next to the cafeteria. We arrived at breakfast around 7:30, and the line was

I wanted to thank everyone for their kind and funny memories of Charley. I miss him terribly and will continue to miss him for the rest of my life.
I love the comments about his green Firebird and my yellow Mustang. We had quite fun back in the days!
He had a good life despite his illness, with ups and downs throughout. I will wait to see him again in heaven.
Thank you again, so much for your kind words. It relly means a lot to me.

So sorry to learn of Charley's passing. I knew and remember Charley From St Joseph Co. 4-H Horse And Pony and Junior Leader meetings. He was always very friendly and personable to me even though I wasn't from the German Township 4-H Club. We had a few fun times together, at the fair, and riding in his Austin Healey. Has it really been 40 years ago?
I was quite taken aback for a moment to see this picture of Charley.

I'm so sorry for your loss. Charley was a great guy an always fun to be around. I first met Charley my freshman year in high school. I felt so important that a sophomore would want to be around me! We became friends, and then I found out he had Type 1 diabetes like myself. He was the first "kid" I ever met who shared that experience so there was an immediate bond. I would run into Charley now and

I was saddened to learn of Charley's recent passing. Though I had not seen Charley in over 40 years, I have many fond memories of playing together with him as young boys, including riding bikes and playing baseball out in the Brinleys open field. I will never forget the photo I have of Charley proudly standing in our driveway on Portage Avenue in his suit following making his First Communion. May God grant you peace Charley, and thanks for all the childhood memories.

Rest in Peace Charley. We worked together in the late 70's. My dad, brother (Mark) and i all worked with Charley. He was a blast to be around. I will never forget his love of Corvettes.

Dear Kristi, Very saddened to read of your father's death. I was just thinking of you recently when I started my poetry unit again this year. I hope you can write a poem of reflection; even if you keep it too yourself, I know it will be sincere, emotional, and beautiful. Robin

Charlie was a great guy. He had so much of his father in him. Much like Bill he would do anything for you. Now at rest---but I'll never forget him.

Cherished Friend, You always will remain in our hearts our forever and eternal "Best Man". May there be peace and rest now from your long earthly travels. May the candles of love and friendship you lit in our lives glow warmer and brighter through the years. Blessings and love always upon your legacy to this world, Charley...your children.
