Cyrus Thompson Falls

Falls, Cyrus Thomson, 79, of Carrollwood, died at 5:45am November 20, 2012. Cyrus was born January 1933 in Dunedin to Cyrus T. Falls Sr. and Bonnie Ware, who were originally from Kings Mountain, N.C. Cyrus also has a sister, Sara McCraney, who still resides with her family in Dunedin. Cyrus' early life was spent traveling between Dunedin and Kings Mountain working the growing seasons. He would pick citrus in the winter on the local orange groves, while spending the summers on the family property NC. In June of 1957 he married Cynthia Washburn at Dunedin United Methodist Church and would have two children, Russell and Wesley. Cyrus Joined the F.B.I. after being released from the army, and Cyrus and Cynthia moved to Washington, D.C. In 1969, Cyrus would begin special agents training in Quantico, while the rest of the family stayed in Clearwater. After completing training, Cyrus' first assignment was in Little Rock, AK. In six months he would be transferred to Newark N.J., where he worked the organized crime taskforce. Cyrus and Cynthia would spend the next sixteen years living in Cranford N.J. The family would join Cranford United Methodist Church. In 1986, Cyrus and Cynthia would move back to FL where they would find a home in Carrollwood and would attend Van Dyke United Methodist. In 1992 after an impressive career with the bureau, Cyrus would retire from the F.B.I. after thirty six years. And as if by fate, Russell would start a family in Kings Mountain while Wesley would start his in Dunedin. Cyrus is survived by his wife Cynthia; son Russell Falls and wife Kathy and their three children, son, Clinton and wife Kim and daughters Allison, and Brooke, all of Kings Mountain, NC. Also Cyrus and Cynthia's second son Wesley Falls and his son Kaleb Falls of Dunedin, Fl. And his sister, Sara McCraney and her family of Dunedin. A memorial service will be held on Friday, November 23 at 2 pm at Blount and Curry Carrollwood Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to LifePath Hospice of Hillsborough County, Metropolitan Ministries of Tampa or the American Heart Assocation.
