Duane R. Avery Obituary

I worked for Duane on and off for years, and in between times we were friends. My memories of Duane are that first and foremost he was a Christian and he acted like one. Early on he used to get fairly stirred up. I used to tease him about how red he'd turn when he was worked up, and how many times did I tell him I expected he must have elastic veins to survive the blood pressure.

Over the past 14 years I had to experience of working with Duane in various capacities. He was a great engineer who was a straight shooter. He was able to accomplish many things in his career and was a benefit to those he was around as a mentor and a friend. He will be missed. My deepest condolences and sympathy to his family during this trying time.
Sincerely, David Crose

Duane was not only a co-worker; he was a friend. We have been known to wet a line in Lake Michican or spend the weekend with other friends at the February Daytona NASCAR races.

Duane was highly experienced and had high integrity and held high standards, which were second to none. He was not shy and he stood up to defend his beliefs. If the product wasn't ready, he would take the unpopular stance to hold up a project until it was done right.

Duane will be missed, not only as a co-worker, but as a friend. Rest in peace, Duane.....
