I am sorry to respond after-the-fact, but my friendship with Mark merits my belated condolence to Mary and the entire Calderon and Hernandez clan on the passing of your beloved Alex. I wish all of you comfort in this time of mourning. He will always be there. You'll see him in the sky above, in the tall grass, in the ones you love.

I am saddened to hear about the loss Alex Sr. I have been a long time friend and patron of Contessa and come to know the family over the years. It was always a highlight in my day see the family at the gallery and Alex will surely be missed. Alex Sr. passed on my daughter, Megan's birthday and I will always remember him. He was a kind, caring and compassionate man and I know you are all very proud of his many contributions to this world.

My thoughts are with all of you. Mr. Calderon always had a big smile and a funny story for me when I came to Contessa Gallery. We always laughed together and he made me feel like part of the family. His sons Alex Jr., Ray and Mark will continue the success of Contessa Gallery, but Mr. Calderon will be missed by many! My prayers are with all of the family. Julie Metzger

Hello Mary and family,
Our deepest condolences and with heavy hearts that we send this message. Alex will surely be missed, when we come to Austin for a visit. Alex was such a character; he was witty just full of every day fun. We (Carlos,Lupe Manny and I Frances) would laugh, after he would tell a story, then pausing a moment, he he would say, "devedas" After we all had a good laugh, we would tell him that we believed him

Alex & Raymond,
Please know that I am so sorry for your loss. I just heard today and wish I would have been able to pay my respects. Your dad always talked about how much he loved you and how he would do anything for either of you. Funny, serious and always some great advise. He is going to be missed - sorry I could not have shared one more talk. Contessa is your dad and you guys make it the best it is.
Please know your in my prayers. God bless you all and your familiy.

So sad to read about Alex. He was a great dad , husband and friend. I just found out about him last night. I am sorry to have missed his service.
I hadn't seen him in years, but was planning to come in the next few weeks when I was near the shop.
I did not know he had been ill.
His boys learned a fine profession from him.
I know his family was all ever wanted .
My deepest condolences.
Alex was a good, honest man and lead a noble life.I knew him for over 40 yrs.
