Condolence & Memory Journal

Candle

Dear Myra's Family,

My heart was very sad to hear of Myra's passing. Myra was always so kind to our family and she was my grandmothers, Bobbie Jo Cundiff's best friend for many many years. Myra sang at my wedding in 1993 and she was extremely kind, warm and loving everytime I saw her. The last time I saw her was at my grandmothers funeral in October 2012. May God bless each of you during this time.

I am so sorry to hear of Myra's passing.
Even though we left in 1974, I still remember the friendship she extended to me during our short stay there. She had such a beautiful voice and was a joy to listen to.

Myra was my supervisor at my first job, at Green Acres, when I moved to Huntington in 1980. She helped me immensely in every way both at work and by bringing me to her church, and even asking me to give piano lessons to Scott. Myra was a pillar of the community and a dear friend. I never would have made it through some very difficult years if she had not reached out to me and helped me so much. I'll never forget her, and may she rest in peace.

So sorry to hear of your loss. Thinking of the McVey family today and sending my deepest condolences.
A few lines from the poem, The Dash...

"I read of a man who stood to speak at the funeral of a friend. He referred to the dates on her casket from beginning to the end. He noted that first came the date of her birth and spoke of the following date with tears, but he said what mattered most of all was the dash between those years. For that dash represents all the time that she spent alive on earth and now only those who loved her know what that little line is worth."

I know your mom had an amazing "dash".

The Bible says to let your light shine. Myra, you never hesitated to let your light shine while you were with us and it will continue to glow from the other side. I will miss you, my friend.
