Our beloved Alejandro (Alex) Calderon, born March 8, 1939 was called by our heavenly Father Jan. 22, 2013.

He was a lifelong native of Austin, Texas. He attended Govalle Elementary school, Allan Jr. High and graduated from Austin High School. He was in the U. S. Marine Corps (reserve unit) for 7 years. Along this road he made good friends that lasted his lifetime.

He established his business (Contessa Gallery & Frame Shop) in 1969 making it his passion and working at it alone for 17 years until his 3-sons joined the business currently following his footsteps in continuing the family business.

He leaves behind his beloved family to cherish his memory. His love of his life wife Mary Esther Hernandez (married since 7-22-1961) and to this union had 3-sons Alex Jr. & his wife Loretta, Raymond (Ray) & his fiancée Gretchen, and Mark; and five grandchildren (his pride and joy) Lazaro, Javier, Madeline, Audrey and Sophie.

He is also survived by his sister Virgie & husband Joe Limon; brother Albert Calderon; and many nieces and nephews, brother-in laws and sister-in laws, and cousins from both sides of his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents Jesse and Cruz Calderon and two brothers Antonio (Tony) and Jesse Jr. Calderon.

The family would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to Heart Hospital of Austin for the excellent care given to our loved one in their CCU, their Drs. and especially their nurses.
