Ann Elizabeth Arrants Newman, 75, Wal-Mart Associate for 28 years and resident of Academy Court, died Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols with Stan Butt, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Friday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Notes of condolence may be extended at
Born in Nashville, she was the daughter of the late Charles F. Arrants and Dorothy Dobbs Arrants. She was a 1955 graduate of Columbia Central High School and attended the University of Tennessee at Knoxville.
Mrs. Newman was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church.
Her husband of 38 years, Eugene Milton Newman, preceded her in death April 7, 2008.
Survivors include her daughter, Melanie Newman of Eagleville a brother, Charles Drew Arrants of Goodyear, Arizona; and her Columbia Wal-Mart Family.
Past and present Wal-Mart Associates will serve as honorary pallbearers
