Billy M. Lawson, 69, of the Cliff Mountain Community, passed away on Tuesday (December 25, 2012) at Mountain View Regional Medical Center in Norton, VA.
He lived most of his life in Scott County, VA and worked at various places as a farmer and timberman.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Emmitt and Rachel Virginia (Adams) Lawson; and two brothers, Guy Adams and James Lawson.
He is survived by his sister, Mary Francis Seymour and husband, Larry, of Appalachia, VA; a niece and a nephew; and three aunts, Opal Richards of Kingsport, TN, Bea Bradley of Knoxville, TN and a very special aunt, Nancy Adams , of Big Stone Gap, VA.
Friends may call from 12 noon to 1 p.m. on Friday at Holding Funeral Home (17 E. 3rd St., N.) in Big Stone Gap, VA.
The funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Friday in the funeral home chapel with Pastor William Bowen officiating.
Burial will follow in the Bowen Cemetery, Cliff Mountain Community, Duffield, VA.
