Clayton J. Normand
Funeral Services for Clayton J. Normand will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 2, 2013 in the chapel of John Kramer & Son with Rev. August Thompson officiating. Interment will follow in Alexandria Memorial Gardens, Woodworth, under the direction of John Kramer & Son.
Clayton J. Normand, 72, passed away Sunday, December 30, 2012 at Riverside Hospital.
He is preceded in death by his father, James C. "Jimmie" Normand, and his sister, Linda Chenevert.
Clayton was a native of Alexandria. He was a graduate of Menard Memorial High School. Clayton worked for Bell South for 32 years. He played music throughout his life, except for the past five years, and taught many young Central Louisiana musicians including Leon Medica, Danny Milner, and several nephews who play in local churches. One of his last performances was with the second Street Symphony with Paul Bordelon at the Mári Center at Paragon Casino and Resort.
Clayton is survived by his wife, Lois Jenkins Normand of Elmer; son, Jeff Normand and his wife Marlene of Glenmora; his mother, Willena Normand; three sisters, Kitty Wallace and husband "Judge", Janell Haise and husband Chuck, and Karen Norman, all of Alexandria; step-children, Bridget Hebert and husband Morris of Oakdale, and Christopher Vedrines and wife Cheryl of New Iberia; grandchildren, Roman R. McClure, Jerry D. Malcolm, Ryan R. McClure, Jeffery Clayton Normand; and three great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 4 pm. until 7 p.m., Tuesday, January 1, 2013 and from 10 a.m. until time-of-service Wednesday, January 2, 2013.
