David Giles, 60, of Albany, died Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital.

His funeral service will be at 11 AM Saturday, January 26, 2013 at Porterfield Memorial United Methodist Church with interment to follow at Crown Hill Cemetery. The Rev. Phil Streetman and the Rev. William Collins will officiate.

Born and raised in Albany, David was the son of the late J. Gordon Giles and Connie Giles. Previously, a co-owner of Giles Builders Supply and presently employed at Pro-Build, David had a passion for the building business and greatly enjoyed his occupation. He was a member of Lake Blackshear Baptist Church in Cordele, GA. He was a graduate of Westover High School in the Class of 1970. David was preceded in death by his parents, J. Gordon Giles and Connie Giles, a son, Spencer David Giles, and a niece, Laura Constance Giles.

David is survived by his wife: Tomilyn (Mrs. T) Giles, Albany; 2 daughters: Lindsey Giles, Albany, Elaine Giles Mabrey and her husband Rod, Albany; a brother: Phillip Giles and his wife Belinda, Albany; step-grandson: Josh Mabrey, Albany; nephews: John P. Giles and his wife Katie, Athens, Jesse Williams, Athens, Matt Giles, Albany; nieces: Mia Murray, Cordele, Caroline Giles, Athens; mother-in-law: Sandra Engram, Cordele; sister and brother-in-law: Ricky and Maria Murray, Cordele.

The family will receive friends at Kimbrell-Stern on Friday, January 25, 2013 from 6-8 PM.
