Elmer C. Dude Goldsmith, 83, of Owensboro, Kentucky died Thursday, November 5, 2009, at his home. He was born on December 13, 1925 in Grayville, Illinois to the late Elmer Clarence and Mable Goldsmith. He retired after 45 years of employment with Ashland Oil Pipeline Department where he was a Control Room Operator. He was of the Catholic faith and was a Navy veteran of World War II. He had been a Cubs fan since 1934. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and brother. He was preceded in death by four sisters, Mable Spann, Raydell Siebert, Gladys Skinner and Beatrice Stroughmatt and three brothers, Othel, Weldon and Tavern Goldsmith. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Reba Goldsmith; two daughters, Robin Lynn (Ronnie) Pullen of Owensboro and Sheri Rae Phelps of Owensboro; five grandchildren, Amber (Kenny) Duke, Chelsie (Jeff) Clark, Lucas Ross, Jacob Schrecker, Lyndsey (Jonathan) Hagan; three great grandchildren, Cameron Duke, Nolan Duke and Gavin Hagan; by a sister, Lydia Harvey of Grayville, IL and several nieces and nephews. Memorial services are at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 9, 2009, at the Chapel of James H. Davis Funeral Home & Crematory in Owensboro. Visitation is from 10:00-11:00 a.m. on Monday at James H.
