SACRAMENTO - J.C. "Jay" Hinton, 88, a loving husband, father, and grandfather, and a long time resident of Sacramento, died Thursday, February 21, 2013 at Baptist Health Madisonville. Mr. Hinton was born September 20, 1924 in Muhlenberg County. He was a retired masonry contractor and a member of Faith Baptist Church in Sacramento, where he was a deacon and treasurer for 40 years. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving during WWII. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ervin and Viola Hinton; brother Lindel Hinton; and sister Zula Baize.

Survivors include his wife, Reba Tucker Hinton, whom he married on January 22, 1949; daughters Gaye (Jerald) Glaysbrook of Sacramento and Sonda (Randy) Hilgeman of Seminole, FL; six grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Saturday, February 23, 2013 at 1:00PM at Faith Baptist Church in Sacramento, with Rev. Bobby Brown officiating, assisted by Rev. Earvin Hall. Burial in Revlett Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday after 11:00AM at Faith Baptist Church. Tucker Funeral Home in Central City is in charge of arrangements. Online condolences may be made at www.tuckerfuneralhomes.com.
