Uncle Pepe was my fathers best friend and brother. When Dad passed in 1949 Uncle Pepe took his place in our lives and loved us, (my two brothers, Rodger and Dennis) as his own children. We were seperated by most of the US but maintained a family relationship and the love that goes with those familial ties our entire lives. We charished Uncle Pepe, Aunt Aida, Andy, Jody, and Joanne, as well as their spouses and children as part of our immediate family and will miss his warm, smiling exhistance dearly. We know he is with the rest of the family in heaven and look forward to being with them again in the afterlife.

He and Aida and were so much fun to be around. But, knowing that they are together with Joanne now, where there is no more sorrow and no more pain, gives much peace.

I always enjoyed my time with Pepe. We did our little dance moves, we hugged and laughed and cried together many times. I will certainly miss his loving presence at all of the family gatherings. And, now

Molly and I were in awe of Aida and Pepe's love. They were a beautiful example for us. We had hoped to grow old together and we wanted to be just like they were. But, sadly that was not to be...

Dear God, Please bless the whole David family with your peace... I am so thankful that they are a part of my life.

So many memories...so many stories. When my brother, Steve, and I were installing a patio cover for the new house Joanne and I had just bought Pepe volunteered to help us. He measured the 1"x1" to lengths so precise that we had to install them in the exact order he had cut them. Or they wouldn't fit due to the subtle variations in the beams. When we took breaks he told us details of his experiences during WWII. Of

When we took breaks he told us details of his experiences during WWII. Of being in a POW camp and what happened on the Death March to that camp. And he told us he hadn't expected to live past the first wave of the Japanese invasion. So he viewed every day after that as an extra day. And always viewed Life as a precious gift that he appreciated everyday after that. I never saw Pepe the same after that. Before that he was Joanne's Dad. After that he was a whole lot more....a human being to be admired and respected. I'll always appreciate sharing this journey of Life with him. A very amazing man. I look forward to seeing him again in Heaven.

I met the David family for the first time when a family friend of theirs from San Juan visited them in LA. They were the Filarts. I happen to know 2 of their boys as members of the Legion of Mary at the church. They called me to meet them over at the

In the fall of 1969, I moved from Ann Arbor, Michigan to the L. A, area since a few of my co-workers from Manila settled in California. I met the David family for the first time when a family friend of theirs from San Juan visited them in LA. They were the Filarts. I happen to know 2 of their boys as members of the Legion of Mary at the church. They called me to meet them over at the David's for dinner. That was the start of my friendship with the whole family, especially Jody. After moving to Colorado in 1976, this friendship continues. Having no close relatives then, I consider Pepe and Aida David as closest to being my parents. I will treasure all the good memories having them part of our lives.
