OWENSBORO - Kenneth E. Powell, 82, of Owensboro, died Friday, February 8, 2013 at 3:45AM at Owensboro Medical Health System. Mr. Powell was born June 15, 1930 in Cleaton. He worked in Plant Operations at Kentucky Utilities, and was a U.S. Army veteran. He was a member of Hall Street Baptist Church, where he was a very active member. He was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin and Lena Powell; brothers William "Buddy" Powell and Junior Ray Powell, and sister Sybil Walls.
Survivors include his wife, Wanda Bobbitt Powell; sons Kevin (Alma) Powell of Chicago and Keenan Powell of Owensboro; daughter Cheryl Powell of Chicago; granddaughter Jessie Powell of Chicago; and sister Jo Williams of Clarksville, TN.
Funeral services will be Monday, February 11, 2013 at 11:30AM at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City, with Rev. Jim Nelson officiating. Burial in Rose Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 4-7PM at the funeral home. Online condolences may be made at www.tuckerfuneralhomes.com.
