Lorene B. Masingill, 88 of Springhill, LA died February 1, 2013 at the Carrington Place of Springhill. Lorene was born July 2, 1924 in Antioch, AR to the late Robert Ethridge and Ettie Bowman.
Lorene during World War II worked in the University Hospital and most of her life she was a wonderful homemaker to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren who called her "Mamaw." She loved to quilt and enjoyed gardening and nature.
She is preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, and four sisters.
She is survived by her husband of 68 years Jean A. Masingill of Springhill; daughter Kay Ratliff and husband Ken of Springhill; sons Edwin Masingill and wife Jo of Newnan, GA, David Masingill and wife Dian of Hot Springs, AR; six grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; and four great great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 2:30 p.m. Monday, February 4th at the Lewis Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Garth Collier officiating. Burial will follow at the Springhill City Cemetery under the direction of Lewis Funeral Home, Inc. of Springhill. Visitation will be Sunday from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be the Deacons of the First Assembly of God Church.
