Reverend Norris McDonald, Sr. was born in Bellville, Texas on April 14, 1928. He was the second child of Raymond, Sr. and Elizabeth McDonald. He received his education in Bellville, Texas and accepted Christ at an early age. He relocated to Austin and became quite versatile in various trades such as construction and plumbing. He was Founder of The Church of God In Jesus Hame of the Texas Southern Convention, Inc. in 1988, and continued to minister under this name until his health began to fail him. Although we could see him getting weary toward the end of his journey, he still continued to remain prayerful and sincere to the Lord for his Salvation. He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Elizabeth McDonald; one daughter, Linda McDonald Hill; three sisters, Luella Cloud, Corine Holloway and Mayola "Jane" Addison; two brothers, Floyd and Robert McDonald. He leaves to cherish his memories his wife of 14 years, Betty McDonald; three brothers, Raymond, Jr., Eddie and Walter McDonald; seven sons, Norris, Jr., Jerry, Robert, Darren Hamilton, Rev. William Holloway, Timothy and Rozon; six daughters, Deborah, Beatrice, Rose, Irene, Mashiela, and Roshon; and a hosst of adopted children, grandchildren, great grandchildren; great great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, friends and spiritual friends.
