Rose M. Cavins, 65, died Wednesday, November 4, 2009, at her home. She retired from Wal-Mart in sales and had worked at Indian Industries. She was a member of VFW 1114 Ladies Auxiliary and enjoyed reading and spending time with her grandchildren. Rose is survived by her son, Jerry Cavins and his wife, Laura; daughter, Charlotte Schmitt and husband, Mark, and Terry Cavins and his wife, Kim; grandchildren, Tiffany Schu and husband, Brian, Christopher Schmitt and wife, Haley, Kelsey Schmitt and Tanner Babb, Turner Cavins, Taryn Winters and husband, Nick, Kaycee Cavins and Brandon Mize; great-grandchildren, Brandi Schu, Gavin Schu, and Kahra Schmitt; brothers, Larry Acton and wife, Karen, Donald Acton and his wife, Rose, Raymond Acton and his wife, Blonnie, and Bob Acton; sisters, Sharon Long and husband, Ross, and Joan Walker and son, Doug; and a sister-in-law, Louise Acton. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry R. Cavins; son, Jeffrey; brothers, James and Roy Acton; and mother and father, Lorretta and Herman Acton. Services 11 a.m. Saturday, November 7, 2009, at Ziemer Funeral Home Central Chapel, 626 First Ave. Burial will be in Locust Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday, November 6, 2009, from 2 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society , 1510 West Franklin St. in Evansville, American Diabetes Association , 3700 Bellemeade Ave., or SWIRCA & More, 16 W. Virginia, Evansville, IN 47710.
