Rosita Balderrama Porras passed away on Thursday, January 24, 2013 at the age of 81. She was the cherished wife of the late Oscar Porras. Loving mother of Patricia P. Otts, Yvonne M. Winters, Oscar J. Porras and Salvador E. Porras. Daughter of the late Maria Balcerel and Julio Balderrama. Sister of Alma Fleming and the late Christina Solano, Frances Navis, Al Balderrama and George Balderrama. Proud grandmother of Amanda Tilman, Sarah Porras, Cody Luquet, Tyler Luquet, Bryce Luquet, Alex Winters, Noah Winters, Natalie Porras, Kelly Porras and Chloe Porras. She is also survived and fondly remembered by her 2 great grandchildren, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. Rosita was a native of Los Angeles, CA and a longtime resident of St. Bernard Parish, before settling in Kenner, LA. She enjoyed many years as a language interpreter for several hospitals. She will be forever remembered as a loving and loyal wife, mother, grandmother, sister and a friend to many, who loved God, loved her family and prayed for the New Orleans Saints.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Thursday, January 31st from 9:00AM – 11:00AM. A Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Church, 2320 Paris Rd., Chalmette, LA beginning at 11:30AM.
Burial will follow in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens.
