Royal German (Roy) Cowan
Pickens

Husband of Elizabeth (Lib) Davis Waldrop Cowan, went to be with the Lord on February 7, 2013 at his home, with his wife by his side.

He was born in Aiken, South Carolina and spent his early years in Ninety Six, South Carolina.

A son of the late James Alvin and Iola Lee German Cowan. Mr. Cowan was a veteran of the US Navy where he served in the Korean War. He retired from Saco-Lowell after 30 years of service and was a member of Tabor United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife Lib, a daughter Rollyn Smith, grandchildren, Angie, her husband and four children, Amy, Eddie, his wife and Son, step children include; Mike and Wanda Waldrop, Tim and Gina Waldrop, Roger and Debbie Simmons, Randy and Penne Skelton, step grandchildren; Jeremy and Courtney Klippert, Brandon and Brittany Synder and children, Derrick and Alicia Simpson, Zach Skelton, Jesse and Allison Moss and children.

Mr. Cowan was predeceased by his brothers; James Alvin Cowan, Jr. and Reverend Ralph L. Cowan.

Visitation will be Saturday, February 9, 2013 from 1 PM until 2:45 PM at Dillard Funeral Home with the funeral service to follow in the chapel at 3 PM. The burial will be held at Hillcrest Memorial Park and Gardens.
