Velva Lyons Lanter Templeton, 97, widow of Dewey Templeton, passed away Sunday, January 20, 2013 at the Georgetown Community Hospital. A native of Harrison County, she was the daughter of the late Sam and Sudie Highlander Lyons and was the oldest living member of Silas Baptist Church. Survivors include five children, S. Tod (Glenna) Lanter, Peggy (George) Lanter Groves McCollins, Charles (Rose) Lanter, Wayne (Judy) Lanter and Elwood (Janice) Lanter; fourteen grandchildren, Sharon (Russell) Atchison, Samuel Tod "Bo" (Joy) Lanter, Jr., Tracey (Bill) Eyster, Timothy (Johnna) Lanter, Georgina (Jerry) Gunnell, Greg Tod (Tonya) Groves, Jackie (Wanda) Lanter, Glenn Lanter, Tonya Gullion, Pam Lanter, Jeff (Regina) Lanter, Missie Lewis, Scott Lanter and Dino (Kathy) Lanter; 34 Great Grandchildren and 11 Great Great Grandchildren; several nieces and nephews including a special niece Jo (Woody) White. One grandson Gee Gee Groves, four sisters, two brothers and the father of her children, E.L. Lanter, preceded her in death. Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Wednesday at Johnson's Funeral Home by Rev. Curtis Coots with burial to follow in Jacksonville Cemetery, Bourbon County. Casket bearers will be her grandsons, Greg Groves, Bo, Tim, Jackie, Jeff, Scott and Dino Lanter. Honorary bearers will be Missie Lewis, Tonya Gullion, Georgina and Jerry Gunnell, Sharon Atchison, Tracey Eyster, Pam Lanter, Glenn Lanter and Franklin Clinkenbeard. Visitation will be 5-8pm Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorial may be made to Silas Baptist Church, 274 Silas Road, Cynthiana, Ky. 41031
