GREENVILLE - Vernie Albert Bivins, 68, of Greenville, died Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at 9:20PM at Muhlenberg Community Hospital. Mr. Bivins was born July 15, 1944 in Muhlenberg County. He was a coal miner and construction worker, and member of Mercer Missionary Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Vernie and Louise Bivins; sister Wilma Epley; and father-in-law, Eual Rice.

Survivors include his wife, Kathy Jane Rice Bivins; sons Donnie Bivins of Evansville and Eric Bivins of Gallatin, TN; daughter Amy LeGrand of Greenville; eight grandchildren; brothers Tom Bivins of Ft. Myers, FL and Mike Bivins of Greenville; sister Brenda Bush of Greenville; and mother-in-law Dorothy Rice of Greenville.

Funeral services will be Saturday, February 16, 2013 at 11:00AM at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City, with Bro. James Branscum officiating, assisted by Bro. Steve Hibb. Burial in Friendship Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday after 5:00PM at the funeral home.
